Built in the 1980s, this modern house in Bath has classic proportions inspired by the Georgian architecture of this beautiful city.
Clair Strong Interior Design was hired to provide interior design services to a couple who wanted to refurbish their much-loved family home after their children had flown the nest.
The elegantly proportioned and light drawing room had a complete refurbishment with a new floor, fireplace, décor, lighting and furniture.
A new oak parquet floor was laid throughout, warmed up by the addition of a neutral Crucial Trading rug. A stunning new marble mantlepiece from Pinkney Green created a dramatic centrepiece to the room.
Sofas in toning shades of blue from Belgian company, Marie’s Corner, and coffee tables and consoles from Tom Faulkner created a relaxing yet elegant feel to the room. The drawing room benefits from lots of windows which were enhanced with new curtains made from Colefax & Fowler fabric.
The open-plan kitchen was decorated throughout, and we added some new furniture and furnishings to compliment the client’s existing pieces. Curtains and cushions were made using Designer’s Guild fabric, whilst lights from Astro Lighting and furniture from OKA added warmth and style.
The hall and landing were repainted, and the client’s artwork rehung. We fitted invisible switches from Forbes and Lomax as a finishing touch.
We entirely remodelled the bathroom, moving stud walls to create a light modern space. A state-of-the-art Hansgrohe shower was fitted with a Merlyn enclosure. Tiles from Mandarin Stone gave a sleek spa-like vibe to the room. A navy-blue vanity unit from the Painted Furniture Company provided a stylish splash of colour in this otherwise neutral room.
